Weather started to change strongly these days. There’s still sun during the daytime but mornings and nights are getting colder aided with icy wind and some heavy rains in the late afternoons. My last Sunday walk in the park witnessed the shifts in nature’s color palette. Stores and small businesses are filled with Halloween and Day of the Death items. A new season and new projects are coming!
El clima empezó a cambiar estos días con más fuerza. Aún tenemos sol durante el día pero las mañanas y noches son más frías con viento helado y algunas lluvias fuertes en las tardes. Mi caminata del domingo en el parque fue testigo de los cambios en la paleta de colores. Las tiendas y pequeños negocios están llenos de artículos para Halloween y Día de Muertos. ¡Una nueva estación y nuevos proyectos se acercan!
I’m designing a new free pattern for a crochet beads’ necklace. I will post it within the next days or weeks and it will also be featured in Around the world in 80 skeins blog. I was lucky to be chosen by Kimberly Golynskiy (aka 80skeins) to represent Mexico. Kim’s a talented knitwear designer that’s leading this interesting project to gather the work of crochet and knit designers from around the globe for the next 80 days. She has already posted the first four designers from Kuwait, Thailand, Indonesia and South Africa. There’s such beautiful work which is so enriching together with interviews to stick our nose into the designers origins, activities and inspiration. If you can, make a visit I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
And I’m also finishing my next bag pattern that includes a floral design made with tapestry crochet. I’m kind of getting obsessed with this technique and thinking about further patterns to include this type of work.

Tuve la fortuna de ser seleccionada por Kimberly Golynskiy (también conocida como 80skeins) para representar a México. Kim es una talentosa diseñadora de tejido quien encabeza este interesante proyecto para reunir el trabajo de diseñadores de trabajo a ganchillo o dos agujas de todo el mundo por los siguientes 80 días. Ya ha publicado a los primeros 4 personajes de Kuwait, Tailandia, Indonesia y Sudáfrica. También estoy terminando mi siguiente patrón para bolso que incluye un diseño floral tejido con tapestry crochet. Creo que me estoy obsesionando un poco con esta técnica y pensando en futuros patrones que incluyan este tipo de trabajo.
