I think it’s the first time in many years I don’t have this awkward feeling on the first days of a new year. Although I did slow down the pace these last two weeks to make time for some relaxing and spending quality family time I still managed to make some writing for new patterns and crocheting. That’s the beauty I found in doing something I love, I didn’t feel this urge of taking a winter break and when I did take some days off I didn’t find myself wishing they were longer neither avoided thinking about getting back to the daily routine. Instead, I have experienced a kind of continuity because I’m making my job such an enjoyable part of my life.
Creo que es la primera vez en muchos años que no tengo esta sensación extraña de los primeros días del nuevo año. Aunque sí bajé la velocidad estas últimas dos semanas para pasar tiempo de descanso y de calidad en familia al mismo tiempo pude hacer un poco de espacio para escribir nuevos patrones y tejer. Esa es la belleza que he encontrado en hacer lo que me gusta, no sentía esta urgencia por tener un descanso de invierno y cuando tomé algunos días no deseaba que éstos fueran más largos ni evitaba pensar en el regreso a la rutina diaria. En su lugar experimenté un estilo de continuidad porque he hecho de mi trabajo una parte que disfruto tanto de mi vida.
I’ve also been paying more attention to things that surround and inspire me. Last few days clouds have been so amazing. It’s something that’s always there but in my last walks I have seen such great formations from the same spot.
También he estado poniendo más atención a las cosas que me rodean y me inspiran. Los últimos días las nubes han estado increíbles. Son algo que siempre está ahí pero en mis últimas caminatas he visto formaciones bellísimas desde el mismo punto.
Vegetation is now all leaves, whether they are dry or still fresh in the more resistant to the cold types. And though this could seem quite gloomy without flowers I have discovered gorgeous beiges, yellows, oranges, blues and greens that fill the eyes.
La vegetación ahora es todo hojas, ya sean secas o aún frescas en los tipos más resistentes al frío. Y aunque esto pudiera no ser tan alegre sin flores, he descubierto bellos colores amarillo, naranja, beige, verdes y azules que llenan la vista.
So my next bag pattern will be inspired in this kind of scenery that has been surrounding me for the last weeks. It will also have a more practical design for busy, active but still fashionable girls. I hope to make it available within the next week.
