You’ll need a 4 mm crochet hook, 50 gr. of worsted weight 100% cotton yarn and 3 mm macrame cord (150 cm approx. for one box).

It’s started from the base and crocheted in the round in a spiral way. Ch 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook= 6 sts (I suggest placing a marker in the first st of every round to count sts and rounds easier)
Rnd 2: From this round on the macrame cord will be carried along. Continue to crochet as usual but now wrapping the cord. 2 sc in each sc around= 12 sts
Rnd 3: (sc 2, 3 sc in next st) rep ( ) 4 times= 20 sts
Rnd 4: sc 3, 3 sc in next st, (sc 4, 3 sc in next st) rep ( ) 3 times, sc 1= 28 sts
Rnd 5: sc 4, 3 sc in next st, (sc 6, 3 sc in next st) rep ( ) 3 times, sc 2= 36 sts
Se empieza por la base y se teje en redondo en espiral. Hacer 2 cad.
Vta. 1: 6 mp. en la 2ª cad. desde el gancho= 6 p. (sugiero colocar un marcador en el primer p. de cada vta. para poder contar los p. y vtas. con facilidad)

Vta. 3: (2 mp, 3 mp en el sig. p) rep ( ) 4 veces= 20 p.
Vta. 4: 3 mp, 3 mp. en el sig. p, (4 mp, 3 mp. en el sig. p) rep ( ) 3 veces, 1 mp= 28 p.
Vta. 5: 4 mp, 3 mp. en el sig. p, (6 mp, 3 mp. en el sig. p) rep ( ) 3 veces, 2 mp= 36 p.
Rnd 6-10: Sc 36
Rnd 11: sc 35, sc 1 without wrapping the macrame cord anymore. Sl st in the first st of this round. Cut the macrame cord leaving a 1.5″ strand.
Rnd 12: (ch 4, 3 dc) in the first st, sk 2 sts, [(sc 1, ch 3, 3 dc) in next st, sk 2 sts] rep [ ] 11 times, sl st in the first ch of this round. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Vta. 6-10: 36 mp.
Vta. 11: 35 mp, 1 mp. ya sin envolver el cordón de macramé. 1 pd. en el primer p. de esta vta. Cortar el cordón de macramé dejando una hebra de 3.5 cm.
Vta. 12: (4 cad, 3 mac) en el primer p, saltar 2 p, [(1 mp, 3 cad, 3 mac) en el sig. p, saltar 2 p] rep [ ] 11 veces, 1 pd en la primer cad. de esta vta. Rematar y esconder todas las hebras.
The box is ready, if you increase the necessary sts you can make a bigger container. Adding a cord like this helps making your work a lot more resistant and stiff. It doesn’t matter if the cord shows through the sts, this gives the design a special touch. You could even try working with a wider cord, just make sure you pull enough yarn to wrap it while crocheting.
La cajita está lista, puedes hacer más vtas. aumentando los p. necesarios para tener un contenedor más grande. Agregar un cordón como este ayuda a que el trabajo quede más rígido y resistente. No importa si el cordón se ve a través de los p, esto le da al diseño un toque especial. Hasta se puede intentar con un cordón más grueso, sólo hay que jalar estambre suficiente para envolverlo al ir tejiendo.
