STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES
– Single crochet (UK double crochet)
– Double crochet (UK treble crochet)
– Loop stitch: Insert the hook in the stitch, pull a long loop of yarn over your index finger, go around the front of the loop with the hook, take the complete long loop from the back and pull through the stitch, drop the long loop, with 3 loops on the hook, yarn over and close the stitch. The loop stitch is made, the loop will be visible on the opposite side. Repeat the steps in each of the following stitches to make a row of loop stitches.
WALL HANGING
It’s crocheted back and forth, starting from the upper edge. Ch 37.
Row 1: Starting in the 7th ch from the hook, (dc 1, ch 1, skip 1 ch) rep ( ) 15 times, dc 1= 17 dc and 16 ch 1 spaces.
Row 2-3: Ch 3, dc 32= 33 sts
Row 4 (WS): Ch 1, 33 sts in loop st= 33 sts
Row 5 (RS): Ch 1, sc 33= 33 sts
Row 6-7: Rep rows 4-5
Row 8: Rep row 4
Row 9-11: Ch 3, dc 32= 33 sts
Row 12-19: Rep rows 4-11
Fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
FINISHING
Cut 33 strips of 15.7″/ 40 cm for the fringes.
On the RS, over the sts of row 19, make 1 fringe in each st (insert the hook, take 1 strip and fold it in half, place it over the hook and pull it through the st, yarn over and close, pull and adjust to the stitch).
Trim the ends of the fringes to have an even edge.
