COTONE MINI BAG

FREE PATTERN WITH VIDEO TUTORIAL

So, after a few free patterns that had nothing to do with bags, I am going back to this favorite accessory of mine. In a basic structure, within a smaller version that works great for long walks and sporty looks.

The Cotone Mini Bag is an easy crochet project, with basic stitches and few finishing steps, to be completed in little time. And with a nice construction, which makes it perfect to be carried as a useful crossbody.

This free pattern includes single crochets and slip stitches, which are part of the weaving essentials, perfect for beginners. But in case you have no experience in crochet at all, you can watch my Crocheting from Scratch video first, if you feel you need to practice a little before diving into a more specific task.

The project has simple increases too, and only basic sewing to attach the finishing pieces. Not complicated at all, making it a super fun diy experience.

STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES
Invisible join

It is used to get a cleaner end of round. Finish last st of the rnd, cut the yarn leaving a 4”/10 cm tail and pull the yarn through the loop. With tapestry needle, insert in the first st of the rnd. Then, insert the needle on top of the last st of the rnd, by going through the center and pulling through the WS. Pull to close and fasten off.

This video tutorial for the Cotone Mini Bag covers all steps of the making. Video is in Spanish, but you have the option to see the Closed Caption in the language of your choice, by selecting the settings icon on the video then, select Closed Caption, Automatic Translation and select your language. And you also have all written directions and images (below this same post), to follow every detail step by step.

DK weight was the choice for yarn this time, but bag is crocheted by holding two yarns together, to get sturdier stitches, allowing the use of a thicker hook to work faster as well.
