The rug is crocheted in the round in closed rounds, starting from the center. Make a magic ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc 9 all inside the magic ring. Sl st in the 3rd beginning ch to close= 10 sts. Pull the beginning strand to close the ring.
Rnd 2: Ch 6, dc 1 in the first st, ch 1, skip 1 st, {(dc 1, ch 3, dc 1) in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st} rep { } 4 times, sl st in the 3rd beginning ch to close. Then sl st 1 to reach the 3 ch space.
