FREE PATTERN WITH VIDEO TUTORIAL
When I first started sharing free crochet patterns, the most common ones where for jewelry. They were super fashionable at the time and I thought they looked amazing even when they could be super simple.
With the Catena Necklace/Bracelet I am bringing back that inspiration, by putting together unique-looking yarn with special buttons and within a very simple make. To be worn either around the neck or the wrist.
Super easy and fast to complete, because even though it involves twisting the work differently to create the crochet cord, it is really based in the essentials. And finishing is practically two more steps to shape the eyelet and then, sewing a small button.
This free pattern basically uses single crochets and you could easily try it if you are a total newbie. But in case you feel you need to practice a little beforehand, you can watch my Crocheting from Scratch video below, which covers all the steps right from the beginning.
You will also find that within my recent projects, I included another crochet cord, to be used as a handle instead, for my Aria Envelope Bag. If you want to check that tutorial afterwards, for another useful and cute fashion accessory.
A 2 in 1 project, to wear over the neck or the wrist, to take advantage of yarn remains and special buttons at home. And super easy finishing details so that you can make several sets.
This video tutorial for the Catena Necklace/Bracelet covers all steps of the making. Video is in Spanish, but you have the option to see the Closed Caption in the language of your choice, by selecting the settings icon on the video then, select Closed Caption, Automatic Translation and select your language. And you also have all written directions and images (below this same post), to follow every detail step by step.
Worsted weight yarn was the selection for this tutorial, but you can use so many other yarns, even hold two yarns together to create a unique effect.
