Clover cowl and my next softie/ Cuello de tréboles y mi siguiente amigurumi

It has been some days since I last released a free pattern. There has been some changes and new plans going on that I will be talking about in my following posts. One is that I’ve changed the way in which my free patterns will be organized. Now I will be publishing them into pages, not posts. I will still be giving notice through my blog once I release them but I think it will be easier and faster to search for them through the main menu, in the Free tab. The ones that have already been published are still archived but I have also made their own page. They look better, in a wider template and without other distractions for you to see better. This also lets me use my blog for sharing all other kinds of inspiration around me.
Han pasado varios días desde que publiqué mi último patrón gratis. Han habido algunos cambios y nuevos planes que poco a poco les iré contando. Uno de ellos es que cambié la forma en que estarán organizados los patrones gratuitos. Ahora estaré publicándolos en páginas, no en posts. Esto quiere decir que seguiré avisando cuando publique uno nuevo a través del blog pero creo que será más sencillo y rápido encontrarlos a través del menú principal, en la pestaña Gratis. Los que ya he publicado antes siguen archivados en el blog pero también les he hecho su propia página. Se ve mejor, en un formato más ancho y sin otras distracciones para que puedan verlos mejor. Esto también me permitirá usar el blog para compartir todo tipo de inspiración a mi alrededor.

Last week I had the opportunity to visit downtown and enjoy the “Alfeñique fair” in Toluca. This is a traditional celebration that takes place together with the Day of the Death. This strange word refers to the sugar paste that is used to make skulls and other figures like sheep, deers, coffins, crosses, fruits and many others that have been added throughout the years. I love the color combinations and shapes. This time the deers really caught my attention, it’s such a pretty design. I think I know what my next amigurumi/ softie will be inspired by. I also found a spot with lots of representations of the death in several professions, such a detailed and pretty work.
La semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de visitar el centro y disfrutar la “Feria del Alfeñique” en Toluca. Es una celebración tradicional que acompaña el Día de Muertos. La extraña palabra se refiere a la pasta de azúcar que sirve para hacer calaveritas y otras figuras como borregos, venados, ataudes, cruces, frutas y muchas otras que se han ido agregando a través de los años. Me encanta la combinación de colores y las formas tan creativas. Esta vez los venados verdaderamente llamaron mi atención, tienen un diseño tan bonito. Creo que ya sé en qué estará basado mi próximo amigurumi. También encontré un puesto con muchas figuras de la muerte practicando diversos oficios, un trabajo tan detallado y bello.

And finally, as I had been promising, a new free pattern, a cowl with a clover edging. Few rows, basic stitches and then a special edge that can really be the highlight of the design. I decided not to make it very heavy because it’s not so cold yet but it could have a lot more rows of double crochet (UK triple crochet) in the beginning and it would also look great. Y finalmente, como había estado prometiendo, un nuevo patrón gratis, un cuello con orilla de tréboles. Pocas vueltas, puntadas básicas y un final especial que puede hacer resaltar todo el diseño. Decidí no hacerlo muy grande porque aún no hace tanto frío pero podría llevar más vueltas de macizos (puntos altos) al inicio y también se vería muy bien. Y un color claro también luciría muy lindo.
