Small crochet projects have a lot of pros, like being faster to finish, needing fewer materials and making it easier to repeat for several pieces. They are also a good tool to teach specific techniques.
The Cotton Crochet Charm is this small amigurumi bunny that will work as the perfect present or even a good opportunity for selling if you want to earn with your crochet skills. Quick and cute, to be used in many different ways, as a key chain or a decorative charm for bags, mobiles or anything you can think of.
Easy skill level, which allows practice on basic stitches like single crochet, in the round, with basic increases and decreases. Something you can already try if you already know the basics of crochet.
If you think you are still not ready, I do suggest you watch the video below first. Crochet from scratch is almost a beginners crochet course, where I show you the basics. After you have mastered chains and single crochet, you will be ready to move on with a lot more confidence.
SPECIAL STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES
Invisible decrease (single crochet)
Usually used for amigurumi, where stitches need to be tighter, before adding stuffing. Insert the hook in the front loop of next stitch, immediately insert the hook in the front loop of next stitch, yarn over and draw through two loops on the hook, yarn over and draw through last two loops on the hook. One stitch has been decreased.
Video tutorial for Cotton Crochet Charm covers all steps of the making. Video is in Spanish, but you have the option to see the Closed Caption in the language of your choice, by selecting the settings icon on the video then, select Closed Caption, Automatic Translation and select your language. And you also have the round by round directions (below this same post), to follow every detail step by step.
For this little buddy I used light weight cotton yarn so, if you are still on the crochet learning curve, it will make it easier to identify stitches and count every round. And a little amount of yarn so you can even use up your leftovers and make many in different colors and qualities.
Add the key chain and little eyes and security nose for that particular childlike look to be worn by children or adults.
