Hemp bag tutorial/ Tutorial de bolso de hemp

I just released a new video for a free pattern, the hemp bag tutorial. This design is made with hemp yarn from Ice Yarns. I had tried materials similar to this (like jute) before for bags or baskets but they were kind of rough for the hands. Maybe because they were not actually made as yarn for crocheting or knitting but as cords or twine for packaging and other purposes. So when I saw there was actually a hemp yarn I though it would be nice to try it. There are many pretty pieces that can be made with these natural fibers and they get such a nice rustic and natural look. So, the first design is for an easy level crochet bag, all made in the round, in one seamless piece with basic stitches. It’s also complemented with written instructions and additional details if you decide to make one yourself.
Acabo de publicar un nuevo video para un patrón gratuito, el tutorial para bolso de hemp. Este diseño está hecho con estambre de hemp de Ice yarns. Ya había probado materiales similares a este (como el yute) para bolsos o canastas pero eran un poco duros para las manos. Talvez porque no eran realmente hechos como estambre para tejer sino como cordones o cuerda para empacar u otros propósitos. Así que cuando vi que existía un estambre de hemp pensé que sería bueno probarlo. Hay muchas piezas bonitas que se pueden hacer con estas fibras naturales y que se ven tan lindas con este toque natural y rústico. Así que el primer diseño es para un bolso de nivel sencillo, todo hecho en redondo, en una sola pieza con puntos básicos. Crocheting with this yarn is not so different from working with regular yarns like cotton, wool or acrylic. You just may have to crochet a bit slower at first because it is not as flexible but the texture is so amazing. With a few stitches made you can already feel what a great hold the material has. It is a strong and resistant yarn and it stands on its own with very few rounds so it works great for containers. It is soft for the hands and has that special smell of hemp so you will truly feel you are ready to go to the beach to use the bag once you finish it.
Trabajar con este hilo no es muy diferente de tejer con estambres regulares como el algodón, lana o acrílico. Sólo es posible que debas tejer más despacio en un principio porque no es tan flexible pero la textura es increible. Con sólo unos pocos puntos puedes sentir qué gran cuerpo tiene el material. Es un hilo fuerte y resistente y se sostiene por sí mismo con muy pocas vueltas así que queda perfecto para recipientes. Es suave para las manos y tiene ese olor característico que realmente te hará sentir que estás list@ para ir a la playa para usar el bolso después de terminarlo.
