Besides crocheting I’ve learned other crafts throughout the years. I haven’t gone very deep with most of them but it has been handy knowing a bit of everything. Some time ago, I made a lamp base with aluminum embossing technique. I had a hard time finding a lamp shade that would match and got a simple cream one. As I dig every week into my imagination for ideas or patterns I start seeing things of my own which could benefit from a crochet makeover. This time I decided to try with this lamp.
I used cotton yarn and a 3.5 mm crochet hook. I made 45 ch to start. If you’re thinking of making one you could use any other yarn or hook, depending on the style and size you’re going for. All you need is to start with a number of chains multiple of 5. To start close in the round making a ss in the 1st ch.
Además del tejido a gancho he aprendido otras manualidades a través de los años. No he profundizado tanto en muchas de ellas pero es útil conocer de todo un poco. Hace algún tiempo hice una base para lámpara en técnica de repujado. Me costó trabajo encontrar una pantalla que combinara y compré una sencilla en color crema. Mientras busco en mi imaginación para ideas y patrones cada semana empiezo a observar cosas a mi alrededor que podrían beneficiarse de una renovación con crochet. Y decidí probar con mi lámpara esta vez.
Usé hilaza de algodón y un gancho de 3.5 mm. Hice 45 cad. para empezar. Si piensas en hacer una puedes elegir cualquier estambre y gancho, dependiendo del estilo y tamaño que busques. Lo único que necesitas es comenzar con un número de cad. que sea múltiplo de 5. Para iniciar cierra en redondo haciendo un pd. en la 1er cad.
Start following the chart. My lamp is quite small. To make the lamp shade for a different size just crochet more or less rows and repetitions.
Comienza a seguir el gráfico 1. Mi lámpara es pequeña. Para hacer la funda de otro tamaño sólo teje más o menos vueltas y repeticiones.
When I finished the 1st row I checked that the hole wasn’t too open at the top so it could cover a bit inside the edge.
Al terminar la 1a vta. revisé que el orificio no quedara muy abierto arriba para poder cubrir un poco al interior de la orilla.
From R5 on there will be three rows with double crochet and increases and then 1 row with 2 ch spaces and no increases. Repeat this sequence until it covers the length of the shade. The shape will grow according to the shade angle. Fit it every once in a while to check the size.
A partir de la vta. 5 se harán 3 vtas. con macizos y aumentos y después 1 vta. con espacios de 2 cad sin amuentos. Esta secuencia se repite hasta cubrir el largo de la pantalla. La forma crecerá de acuerdo al ángulo de la pantalla. Colocar la funda deespués de algunas vtas. para checar el tamaño.
Now I’m really content with the result and the combination of texture and color. It needed something else and crochet just gave the perfect final touch.
Ahora sí estoy convencida con el resultado, la combinación de texturas y color. Le hacía falta algo y el trabajo a ganchillo le dio el toque perfecto.
