Neon necklace/ Collar neón

Although it’s already winter season there are still sunny days in Mexico. So we can wear colorful clothing and accesories almost all year long. Neon colors have been very trendy in the last years so why not crocheting an accesory that can be worn day or night and that will very likely stand out. Worked on a macrame cord to get the circular shape easier. Few rows and basic stitches are enough to finish the collar, suitable for beginners. You’ll need 100% cotton in three different shades, 26.8”/ 68 cm of 3 mm macrame cord and a 2.5 mm crochet hook.
A pesar de que ya es temporada invernal, todavía tenemos días soleados en México. Así que podemos usar ropa y accesorios coloridos prácticamente todo el año. Los colores neón han sido una tendencia los últimos años y porqué no tejer a ganchillo un collar que puede ser usado de día o de noche y que seguramente llamará la atención. Tejido sobre un cordón de macramé para obtener la forma redonda más fácilmente. Pocas vueltas y puntadas para hacerlo, recomendable para principiantes. Necesitarás hilaza de algodón en tres tonos distintos, 68 cm de cordón de macramé de 3 mm y un gancho de 2.5 mm.

Fold 1.4”/ 3.5 cm of one end of the cord making a 0.6”/ 1.5 cm buttonhole.
Take the yarn and make a simple knot to tie the end.
R1: Ch 1, sc 195 wrapping the cord. Leave a 2.8”/ 7 cm free strand of cord at the end. Fasten off.
Make two simple knots with the remaining cord, one over the other and seal. This will work as a button.
Manually distribute the sts evenly around the cord so you get the necklace oval shape.

Doblar 3.5 cm. de uno de los extremos del cordon formando un ojal de 1.5 cm.
Con la hilaza hacer un nudo simple atando el cordón.
Vta. 1: 1 cad, 195 mp envolviendo el cordón. Dejar un tramo de cordón de 7 cm al final. Rematar.
Hacer dos nudos con el tramo restante de cordón, uno sobre otro y sellar. Esto formará un botón.
Distribuir los p. sobre el cordón manualmente para que se forme una figura ovalada para el collar.

Skip the first 55 sts and join yarn in a different color to st #56. The following rows will be crocheted back and forth.
R2: Ch 1, sc 85, turn= 85 sts. There must be 55 st left of last row on the other side.
R3: Ch 5, sk 2 sts, (dc 1, ch 2, sk 2 sts) rep ( ) 27 times, dc 1, turn= 28 two ch spaces and 29 dc taking into account the first 3 ch.
R4: Ch 1, sc 23, 1 picot, (sc 3, picot 1) repeat ( ) 13 times, sc 23. Fasten off.
Weave in all ends, the necklace is ready.

Saltar 55 p. y unir otro color de hilaza al p.56. Las sig. vtas. se tejerán de ida y vuelta.
Vta. 2: 1 cad, 85 mp= 85 p. Deberán sobrar 55 p. del otro lado
Vta. 3: 5 cad, saltar 2 p, (1 mac, 2 cad, saltar 2 p) repetir ( ) 27 veces, 1 mac= 28 espacios de 2 cad. y 29 mac. tomando en cuenta las 3 cad. de inicio.
Vta. 4: 1 cad, 23 mp, 1 piquito, (3 mp, 1 piquito) rep ( ) 13 veces, 23 mp. Rematar.
Esconder todas las hebras, el collar está listo.
