Summer vacations are on, and while this mostly means days off for kids and young teens, there are also some opportunities for us adults to take some time off for a short trip or a weekend outing. I already have a backpack design in my pattern catalogue, but I felt the need for another option, with more space and an outer bag for fast access to smaller stuff, that is constantly taken in and out. So, if you’re having one of these chances to clear the mind, even if it’s only for 1 or 2 days, the Alma Backpack is more robust, to carry more of everything.
The tapestry work on the design has added embellishments, that had been wanting to try for some time, embroidered stems and anthers. Was looking for a result with some more texture and playfulness with color, definitely this won’t be the only design in which I include these other handmade techniques. They give new and interesting touches to the final pieces but they are also a nice opportunity to learn, if you have never tried them before.
