Don’t know how many months have passed, but I really took some time from releasing a free pattern or a video tutorial. Was busy with other stuff (in the crochet making as well) and I just couldn’t find enough time or inspiration to give you something new. And though it’s nice sharing free patterns more often, I think it’s better to make something that is really useful or motivating to learn, not just sharing without much content. So, hoping it was worth the wait, I just released the Color Facets Coasters, including a video tutorial, because I’m showing basic steps for Intarsia Crochet technique.

As some of you may have already noticed, I love working with color and there are many different ways of managing your yarns to do so. This particular design is small and its use limits to holding a glass or a mug over a table so, there was no need to make a super strong fabric and maybe, tapestry crochet wasn’t the best choice (though it could work as well). It was a good opportunity to use Intarsia and make a video as well for you to see how yarns are handled separately here (in case you don’t already know the technique).
A nice way to broaden our crochet knowledge and be better equipped for new projects. Also a great excuse to use those small leftovers of yarn you may have in many colors and that you refused to throw away. I’m definitely taking advantage of mine now 😉
