STELLA VISOR CAP

FREE PATTERN WITH VIDEO TUTORIAL

There are days when the weather is so changing that we may need to adapt our outfits and accessories both for a cold and warm atmosphere.

The Stella Visor Cap works wonders to keep you both cozy and protected from sunlight, when you go for long walks or have those sporty mornings ahead.

Perfect to practice easy crochet stitches, with simple increases and decreases for shaping. Wrap a plastic visor with your own crochet work and then construct the head band in a few rows. Two main pieces that are joined together to complete the cap.

And remember, that if you are totally new to crochet, there are resources available within my channel, to practice basic stitches first. Like my Crocheting from Scratch video, which allows you to make a smaller project, before diving into a more complex task.

Easy skill level overall for this design, focusing on the shaping, to get the comfort and practicality you need for this kind of head accessory.

STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES
Single crochet join (Standing single crochet)

Used to add a new yarn in the beginning of a new row, to get a cleaner start. Make a slip ring over the hook, insert the hook in the indicated st, yarn over, pull through the st, yarn over and pull through two loops on the hook.

Decrease (with single crochet)
Two single crochets closed together, to decrease one stitch. (Insert hook in next st, yarn over, pull through the st) twice, yarn over and pull through the three loops on the hook. One st has been decreased.

Decrease join (Standing decrease with single crochet)
Used to add a new yarn in the beginning of a new row, to get a cleaner start. Make a slip ring over the hook, insert the hook in the indicated st, yarn over, pull through the st, insert hook in next st, yarn over, pull through the st, yarn over and pull through the three loops on the hook. Invisible join
It is used to get a cleaner end of round. Finish last st of the Rnd, cut the yarn leaving a 4”/10 cm tail and pull the yarn through the final loop. Thread tapestry needle and insert in the first st of the rnd. Then, insert the needle on top of the last st of the rnd, by going through the center and pulling through the WS. Pull to close and fasten off.
