Unicorns have been super popular for a couple of years now, I think. I had wanted to design something related to that magical theme, but nothing really interesting or different seemed to pop up in my mind. But that changed two weeks ago, when I found some bag fastenings in my crafting accessories’ stash. And tapestry crochet was the technique to go for… again haha. Because I had to draw those cute eyelashes and the twisty texture of the horn, main features of this lovely creature. And as this Unicorn Coin Purse is quite a small piece, I decided to share it for free, including written instructions, chart and a video tutorial.
Something super cute you can make for yourself or for a nice present, for little ones or adults, because we are all in love with unicorns! The design is made with fingering yarn, which is easy to find, and also suitable for drawing small, subtle details with tapestry technique. And sure you can recreate it with thicker yarns, I’m already imagining it as a bigger bag or a basket… And I made a second one, with the same yarn weight, but different fastening (same 8 cm width) for you to see how to take advantage of your own stash, without having to stick to the original combination. Like it? Would really love to see yours, use #myunicorncoinpurse and let me take a look!
