There are characteristic symbols for every season, for example, winter is all about snow, Santa Claus, penguins and Christmas trees. Spring relates to birds, flowers and blooming nature, while falling tree leaves and sepia-like colors immediately refer us back to fall. Summer means sun, the ocean and tropical fruits, the inspiration behind my new crochet pattern, the Pina Colada Tote. I was feeling the need for super bright colors and a striking print so, pineapples were a must. Juicy and sweet, to take on your next beach trip and match perfectly with the sunblock, sunglasses and all you need for those lovely days by the shore.
The pattern is a great project to practice tapestry crochet, if you’re already familiar with it. It includes split single crochets, which adds the more symmetrical touch to the design and will also create a sturdier fabric for a super resistant bag. A simple, repetitive drawing, to focus on color changing and stitching. And small finishing details for that urge to use it once you have finished crocheting the main piece. Available in my pattern stores (Ravelry, Allcrochetpatterns.net, Etsy, and Lovecrochet).
