CABLED CAPE

FREE PATTERN WITH VIDEO TUTORIAL

A crochet project to practice several techniques, because it’s crocheted both in the round, and back and forth. All made with double crochet, but including front post and back post variations. Constructed of one seamless piece (from the neck down) and a braided band (to crochet sideways), to be sewed by the end. So, if you are looking to learn new skills in crochet, this might be a good chance.

I’ve made the video tutorial for you to see the steps in detail, followed by the written instructions and charts with symbols below, to check round by round and row by row construction.

You’ll only need a 5.5 mm crochet hook and 220 gr. of medium/worsted weight yarn. And it’s one size only, which I consider small. But if you want to make a bigger version, you can just try making the upper part wider (by making more increase rounds) and longer (by going further than 13 rounds). Then just adapt the length of the cable band to cover the complete circumference.
