The first pattern I ever released was for a basic bag. It’s a very simple design and an easy pattern to follow for an essential tote. The shape is square with long handles to carry on the shoulder and enough space to carry everything we need in a busy day. The original design and pattern were made with 3 mm macrame cord, the material had no brand, it was just a thread I found some time ago in a big crafts store and I immediately thought of making a bag with it.
This kind of thread is so resistant and it looks so pretty so it was perfect for this type of projects. But many crocheters had some trouble finding a similar material. It could also be made with cotton, t-shirt yarn or others but when looking at the images they just wanted to try the exact same yarn. So I spent some time looking and trying different options that could replace my original choice of macrame. Finally I found one that is very similar and that is easy to find at the same time in case someone wants to crochet it exactly the same.
Some small changes had to be made to the original design and pattern to adapt it to the new thread. The result is a renovated nice design. It is still a basic bag with the necessary finishing touches for a stylish look.
El primer patrón de ganchillo que publiqué fue para un bolso básico. Es un diseño muy sencillo y un patrón fácil de seguir para un bolso esencial. La forma es cuadrada con asas largas para cargar en el hombro y el suficiente espacio para cargar lo necesario en un día ocupado. El diseño y patrón originales se hicieron con un cordón de macramé de 3 mm; éste material no era de ninguna marca, es un hilo que encontré hace algún tiempo en una tienda grande de suministros para manualidades e inmediatamente pensé en hacer un bolso con él.
Este tipo de material es tan resistente y se ve tan bonito que era perfecto para este tipo de proyectos. Pero much@s tejedor@s tuvieron problemas para encontrar un estambre similar. Podía hacerse también con algodón, trapillo u otros pero al ver las imágenes simplemente querían intentarlo con el mismo hilo. Así que pasé un tiempo buscando y probando distintas opciones que pudieran reemplazar mi elección original de macramé. Finalmente encontré uno que es muy similar y que es fácil de conseguir al mismo tiempo en caso de que alguien quiera hacerlo exactamente igual.
Tuve que hacer pequeños cambios al patrón y diseño originales para adaptarlo al nuevo material. Y el resultado es un lindo diseño renovado. Aún es un bolso básico con los toques necesarios para un aspecto con mucho estilo.
