Days are still so cold during the early hours, in fact weather forecasts predict temperatures will drop down even more this weekend due to a cold air mass coming all the way from Canada. I’m guessing birds sense this so they collect energy from every ray of light, like this small flock that stood above a rooftop to warm up. I saw this yesterday with the 9 am sun that was making its way through the clouds. I couldn’t stay to see how much time they spent over there but I wish they got enough fuel to follow their journey.
Los días siguen fríos durante las primeras horas, de hecho los pronósticos del tiempo dicen que la temperatura bajará aún más este fin de semana debido a una masa de aire helado que viene desde Canadá. Talvez los pájaros presienten esto y por ello aprovechan cada rayo de luz, como esta pequeña parvada que se detuvo en el techo de una casa para calentarse un poco. Esto fue bajo el sol de las 9 am de ayer que estaba abriéndose camino entre las nubes. No pude quedarme para ver cuanto tiempo estuvieron allí pero deseo que hayan recargado suficiente combustible para seguir con su viaje.
I also have to stand a bit under the sun some of these days to warm up, specially my hands if I’m about to crochet. And just as the sun (well, not with such an instant effect in our body) warm colors can also brighten up a cold day. So I thought of a colorful necklace that can easily be worn all the way to spring and summer season. It combines cotton threads with a gold color chain to make it chunky and bold.

Y así como el sol (bueno, no con un efecto tan instantáneo en nuestro cuerpo) los colores cálidos también pueden iluminar un día frío. Así que pensé en un collar colorido que se puede llevar hasta la temporada de primavera-verano. Combina hilazas de algodón con una cadena en color dorado para hacerlo grueso y llamativo.
I don’t know if this kind of work falls into the experimental crochet category, there was no certainty about the outcome and it sure involved some trial and error. It takes a few calculations to join and get the neck shape properly. It’s not an exact formula as it’s likely you don’t have the exact same chain or materials but I really encourage you to try. I was so surprised with the result, cotton yarn showcases color in such an amazing way and I just can’t wait to wear it.
No estoy segura si este tipo de labor cae dentro de la categoría de ganchillo experimental, no tenía certeza sobre el resultado y definitivamente implicó trabajo de prueba y error. Toma algunos cálculos para unir y dar la forma apropiada para el cuello. No es una fórmula exacta ya que es probable no tengas la cadena o materiales idénticos pero de verdad te animo a que intentes. Me sorprendí con el resultado, el estambre de algodón muestra los colores de una forma tan increíble y no puedo esperar para usarlo.
